Our Week in Pictures
Most of the pictures this week are from our Earth Day Celebration. We had so much fun with all of our activities! Our day was FILLED and turned out wonderfully!
This is our birdseed sensory tub. We were exploring birdseed as part of bird theme this week.
Building with Unifix cubes
Earth Day Activity #1: Rice cake Birdseed Feeders
Spreading the Peanut Butter
Pressing the Birdseed
We all have our feeders and are ready to hang them in the trees!
The strings were actually ripping through the rice cakes so we decided to just place them in the trees.
Everyone found a special spot in the trees. I helped them if they chose a spot up high. We have 28 trees in our yard so the kids had plenty of choices!
Earth Day Activity #2: Planting Marigold Flowers
We learned that plants are living things.
Plants need sun.
Plants need care.
Plants need soil.
Plants need water.
Earth Day Activity #3: Painting a Coffee Filter Earth
Aren't they beautiful?
Earth Day Activity #4: Planting an Annabelle Hydrangea Bush in our yard
When this bush blooms it will have big white snowball blooms. We found so many interesting things in the soil when we dug the hole for our bush.
An earth worm
What is that!?!?! Jalyn was the only one brave enough to pick it up. She only held it for a moment and then tossed it away. I heard lots of screams and giggles. LOL! If you cant tell from the pictures, it is a root that we found in the soil. (But it does look sort of like a scary creature)
And there is our bush planted safely in the ground.
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
